Welcome!

Welcome! My name is Harry Glenn-Finer and I am currently a Senior at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco, CA. One of the reasons I originally chose to attend Lick was its unique offering of the Technical Arts. Since I have started as a student, I have made it a priority to take a Shop class (mostly Wood Shop) every Semester. Here are just some of the projects I have designed and made while at Lick.

Spice Container

This was a spice container I made during my Junior year. I layered sheets of alder, poplar, and black walnut woods into a block and carved out the design on the shops wood-turner.

Shelves (Donated)

During Spring of my Junior year, I chose to be in a wood class where we would build for others. We were in contact with Oakland charter school, Vincent Academy, and built furniture for their developing classrooms. My group was able to produce four bookshelves that were donated to the school. Glass Pieces

During the spring of my Sophomore year, the wood class had filled up and I chose to try glass. These are the two pieces I made for the semester. The bottom one was especially exciting to make as I was able to use the shops sand-blaster to engrave a design of a tree.

Bedside Table

This is a bedside table I designed and made during my Junior year. I was able to use the shop's band saw to get the shape of the legs I wanted. Overall, I was really happy with this piece.

Salad Tongs

These are a pair of salad tongs and a cutting board I made during my Sophomore year. I was really interested in layering different colors at the time and probably used every type of wood we had in the shop.
